Album Description
Suite Haiku is a collection of Chamber Music pieces inspired by dreams
and wishes. Also you'll feel the brevity of themes as reflected by
the traditional form of poetry "Haiku".
Word from the Artist
These pieces were rendered using
Garriton Personal Orchestra and either
Sonar 3 or Overture.
I have tried to stay true to a live instrument's feeling and passion.
Suite in “S”
-
Subjective
- Somnolent
I can't sleep tonight.
Worried thoughts seek prominence.
Once again no peace. (Mark Ayers)
(Priceless, costs of peace)
- Solace
Winds of comfort sigh.
But, can peace come from without?
Duet sighs, peace comes. (Mark Ayers)
- Serpentine
Dodge the striking hiss!
The beauty found in danger
slowly crawls away. (Mark Ayers)
Does She Dream?
- Movement I
Covered with the flowers,
Instantly I'd like to die
In this dream of ours! (Etsujin)
- Movement II
No one travels
Along this way but I,
In this autumn evening. (Matsuo Basho)
- Movement III
No blossoms and no moon,
and he is drinking sake
all alone. (Matsuo
Basho)
- Movement IV
Night: and once again,
the while I wait for you, cold wind
turns into rain. (Masoka
Shiki)
Haiku Kigo
- Summer
How pleasant it is for me
to cross over the summer brook
with sandals in my hand. (Yosa Buson)
- Fall
First autumn morning:
the mirror I stare into
shows my father's face. (Kijo Murakami)
- Winter
No sky
no earth - but still
snowflakes fall. (Hashin)
- Spring
ticking my life away
indifferent clocks
everywhere. (Michael
P. Garofalo)
